How to disable upgrade to Windows 11

If you do not want to upgrade to Windows 11 and want to disable the upgrade notifications, here are some steps you can follow:

Open the Registry Editor

Press the Windows key + R, type “regedit” and hit Enter.

Navigate to the following registry key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate

Create a new DWORD value

Right-click on the WindowsUpdate key, select New, and then click on DWORD (32-bit) Value.

Name the new value

Name the new DWORD value “DisableOSUpgrade” (without the quotes).

Set the value data

Double-click on the “DisableOSUpgrade” value and set the value data to “1” (without the quotes).

Save and exit

Click OK to save the changes and exit the Registry Editor.

This will disable the upgrade notifications and prevent your computer from automatically upgrading to Windows 11. Note that this method only works on Windows 10 Pro, Enterprise, and Education editions. If you are using Windows 10 Home edition, you may need to use a third-party tool or upgrade to a higher edition to disable the upgrade.
